The most direct way to make cuts in the timeline. While Blade Edit Mode (Ctrl+B) is often faster for playhead cuts, the Blade tool is useful for making multiple quick cuts by sight.
Step-by-Step
Press 'B' to activate the Blade tool. Your cursor becomes a razor. Click on any clip in the timeline to cut it at that point. Press 'A' to switch back to the normal Selection tool.
